I reckon WFP has it's chalenges because some custies don't seem to realize that it does a better job of frames. Some custies think if a window is left wet, it's not finished. Another poblem could be that some custies feel they are being ripped off if WFP is done too fast in their opinion. They like to see some poor git sweat for his pound.
These things, could in turn, make some WFP guys think most of these chalenges would disappear if everyone was WFP. So for WFP guys, it's in their interest if all windies use it.
Then we have the other side of the coin. If you look at how windies are percieved by the public, you only have to watch Corrie, with the halfwit on a rikshaw with a 6 rung wooden tour ladder and a sponge. The only people upset with that image are us lot!!!
It makes me laugh (Sometimes) how snobbery could develop among windies who all do the same (At best) semi skilled work.
I've been in this game for a few years now, and I've done allsorts of work. Cradle, cherry picker and rope work. Buildings with thousends of meters of glass, and of course domestic, but in all of the time I've worked, I don't think I've ever seen windies discussing using one of those stupid housewife Kärcher vacuum handheld window cleaning tools. This in itself proves that any skill that was involved in this trade is vanishing fast.
WFP means that anyone can buy a system for a few grand and within a month at the most, be good enough to earn a crust. When asked to clean insides, most tradders or ex-tradders can do this. Guys who are WFP from day one will have real problems, so have to look a "cleaning ady" sollutions like Kärcher.
We are all windies, and we all earn our living off cleaning windows. We need to stop "Bigging" ourselves up and trying to impress eachother with what tools we use. I read on here that some tradders run around in tracky bottoms and chav caps, drive rusty cars and look a right state. That might be the case in some places, but to paint all tradders like that smacks of stupidity. WFP doesn't make people more clever. You just need to read the posts of some of the WFPers on here! Look at Matt Bateman, he has A levels in stupidity and he uses WFP all the time.
It's not really that bad on here with WFP verses Trad, but you guys need to see the other part of this forum!! The carpet cleaners get snotty and slag eachother off about who uses a van mount or a portable!!
Use what you think is best I'd say.
