I got caught off guard today. Someone called me and asked if I done builders cleans. I said yes, having never done one before. :
How much woud you charge for an average 3 bedroom house? I guessed at a £100, but never having done one before, I might be way out.

Surely you need to see the work first.

Some builders cleans are easy, some are extremely messy, and what about windows? Will you do the windows for £100 + expenses on a one builders clean.

You could be there at least a day cleaning windows scraping paint off the glass.

Find out exactly what they want first. Then quote. They will let you see the works to quote. You give a ball park figure over the telephone. But make that clear.

You will also need a UTR or CIS number, they will also dock 20%from whatever you charge.

you get a tax slip against the 20% though as its classed as being taxed at source so it does come back but not til the end of the financial year

Usually about August!!!

You can apply for exemption from deductions from payments and pay annually. Lots of info here: -
