What's wrong with taps on the end of your hose.  So instead of just having a female waterstop have a female tap valve, I've managed for years holding the end of the micro bore hose in my hand whilst holding the pole.  It is important to limit water usage even with a van mount as less water carried equal less diesel used.

i do the same as Sherwood apart i strap the end of my microbore to my pole with Velcro strap works as good as anything doesn't add weight just sits there. its also very quick to take it off for something or what ever.

1. Buy a motorbike petrol on/off tap. Available off ebay, plastic cost around £2.50
2. Fit it to the only part of your pole hose that never moves in and out of your pole or touch the ground  ???
3. Problem solved

Just work out where to put it now  ;D

Does the tap on the bottom of the pole get in the way?
Just wondered cos i,ve dumped my AD (Which i can't get on with).
I like the idea of no added weight at top of pole and have been using a tap on my belt holster, which i'm also not a fan of and thought what you had done with the pure freedom tap looked pretty good.

I've got the same tap set-up as Erith, bought it from P. Freedom and I find it's great, very simple and straightforward to use, quick and efficient. It doesn't add weight to the head of the pole where you don't want extra leverage!  :o . Saying that, I've never actually used an A/D , but for £65+ it would have to be amazing   ;D
