How to extend a Harris pole: Purchase a second pole . The pole has 3 sections thin top middle and the thick end with the rubber cap or handles. Remove this rubber end stop on the thick pole, Fully extend the middle pole from the thickest pole. Now cut the middle pole 10 inches from the thick end pole with a plumber’s pipe cutter. Push this 10 inch section through the thick pole so its comes out of the bottom of the thick pole. This 10 inch peace has a grey stop on end. This piece will now fit into your existing Harris pole bottom end by 4 inches and with the stop going in first. I use electrical tape and epoxy glue to secure it in. This can also have be pop riveted
The 6 inch section protruding out of the Harris pole can now be inserted into the thick end pole of the pole you purchased, I have added two pieces onto the bottom of my Harris pole. The 2 top and middle section can make a nice short pole I cut my one down to 4 foot in total. When using this extended pole do not lift it fully assemble, but add the extensions as you have the pole up in the air.If you do not grasp it all just ask.

what he means I think is, use a second harris like a modular, i.e. you discard the top section and insert into the bottom of the first pole

Dont throw away the top section I also have plans for it as you can make a low level pole and also a goose neck for that long Harris pole using an pulex adjustable crank.
