If you have the money get a gardiners 25 slx that will do what you need, if you need something cheaper go for the gardiners 27 clx

Town houses can be pretty tall so i would say the 27' however like lee said if your budget allows it, do your self a favour and go full carbon.
WE CLEAN BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT WITH WATER FED POLE WHEN WORKING AT HEIGHT.

I wouldn't like to use the CLX 27 all day.  I just keep that for three story work.  My suggestion is to get at least two poles (if your budget allows it).  The SLX 18 foot is perfect for the vast majority of my domestic work, and the CLX 27 for three story stuff.

What I'm saying is, is get a top quality pole for your bread 'n' butter work; the stuff you do most of the time, and go cheap on the pole which you'll use the least; which will be your longer one.

My advice would be to not buy two poles but instead invest the money into a 30ft SLX. Take one section off & use it as a 25ft pole for everyday work, adding the base section back on when needed.

One pole does it all. ;)

I took it out and had a play today, but not used it properly yet.  I like the SLX too much, but I think I'll give it a serious go from Monday onwards and see how I get on.

yes your prob right one pole will do all but very poorly, using a 30ft pole to clean bungelows and normal 2 storey houses is a waste. it puts extra strain on you, its more work which is not needed.

get a slx 18 and a slx 30 thats what i have and it covers everything, using a 25ft-30ft pole for everything is not good i've been there done that.

I use a CLX 27 for most my domestic work, top and bottom windows.

Fully extended its a bit whippy but its so lite and cheap, had mine for a year now (I think) and expect to get another year out of it!!

So i recommend the CLX 27 one pole for everything you asked for in the first post

ive only got a clx 27 which i find gets me through the days work, the only time i struggle with it is doing windows above connys or deep single extensions , feels like im reeling in a great white shark. for this reason im going to get a 30slx which i hope will be less whippy

The CLX 27 isn't a bad pole, but I wouldn't want to work with it all day.  I'd much much prefer a Harris pole to a CLX 27 for routine domestic work and just get the CLX out for higher stuff.

CLX 27 is also 1.8 kg and the SLX 18 is nearly HALF the weight and a lot stiffer, making it a lot nicer to use all day.  (Weights from Gardiner's website):

http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Water-Fed_Poles.html

(Linky because it winds Craig up!  ;D)

I'd still say get an SLX 18 for the majority of your work and get a cheaper pole for your higher stuff (unless of course you have a lot of three story and above work).  The lighter SLX will more than compensate for the time spent swapping over poles - depending on how much 'high' stuff you have.

I reckon!  ;D

I've used a 25ft slx every day for over 3 years for everything from ground to 30ft no problem. Nothing more time wasting than swapping poles when there's no need to. ;)

The 25ft slx is very light, well balanced & easily short enough when closed to do this & you always have that extra length at your disposal.

I do agree however that 30ft wouldn't be the same, that's why I said to remove 1 section for every day use if he bought the 30ft one. ;)

A true 25ft pole will be 99% sufficient on residential work. Gardiner Pole Systems SL-X I would recommend.

Only pole I use. Downstairs as well. Light enough. Swapping poles is time wasted.

until you get a job where your 25 is not long enough

That's when you add that extra (30ft) section I mentioned! ;)
