Glides
« on: May 06, 2011, 08:16:40 pm »
I'm quite interested in the thought if a teflon glide as a way of reducing fatigue.
Has anyone got one fitted to a Hydramaster wand, or know where I can pick one up?
Anyone have anything negative to say about them?

Cheers all,

Ash

No experience of Hydramaster but I have a Westpac with a greenglide and wanding is a breeze. Some feel they may leave carpets more damp and don't get on with them but I have not noticed much difference.

Do you mind if I ask where you bought it? They don't seem to be all that readily available, which I thought is strange bearing in mind the amount of back injuries that carpet cleaners suffer from!

A glide will make life so much easier on your body, the upsides are that you get increased airflow so in theory quicker drying times the downsides are that you get reduced agitation as the glide 'glides' across the carpet fibres although if you go through the stages of cleaning agitation at the wand shouldn't be an issue.

PS I am an experienced glider ;)

Is a green glide a generic fitment? Also, where the hell do you buy them from?  ???

The first ones were from Ken Harris, Greenie was a distributor for them and then made his own but has now ceased making them apparently or allegedly because of law suit, Chemdry owned the US patent, Ken Harris is in Canada.

Yea, I stumbled across a load of lawsuit threads in various US forums when I was trying to find them, I assume that's why the greenglides website is so threadbare?

There's a recession on, I'm a newbie, Greenglide aren't making them anymore etc etc etc. Any of these things possibly persuading you to haggle in the right direction?  :P

if you get a 'slotted' glide they will give more agitation than a 'holed' glide,

How about £75 and I'll even let you include postage.
