Picked this one up a couple of weeks back, first clean today.

Matt.  When you get work like that, is it better to clean the top level of windows first on a number of windows - then return when the running has stopped to do the next horizontal layer of windows.
I ask this because it looks like stonework or similar is separating them which could leave to run marks on the second layer if you cleaned too soon (hope that makes sense  ).

That is exactly what I did Paul. The top row of smaller panes first all the way along the front. That took 15-20 minutes or so, then back to the start point and the larger lower row all the way along. Then the same down on the ground floor.

It was a good hot day today and that stone-work is bone dry so what went on it didnt hang around too long.


Problem is there is ALREADY stain marks on the lower row of glass due to rain-water running down over the stone-work. Ive got an extra day out of them to go back and apply some cleaner to these parts. Not sure but hoping limescale remover will do it. What say you?

Be careful with that stuff if you are using it on old glass. Test it on a very small conspicuous area first, if it goes cloudy don't use it. And use gloves and glasses, it's nasty stuff.

i second that matt used it a couple of time now,also go another job coming up which need  the same treatment

I might start with limescale remover and see how that goes to be honest. I've got a day of insides to do there Monday. I'll test a small area with that first. If nonlick I'll try MDR or that crystal clear.
