Do any of you guys advertise in any magazines etc..?

I had a call from a guy who puts together a magazine for the neighborhood watch yesterday trying to sell me some advertising space. I said call me back in a few days so I can have a think about it, but am a bit reluctant to fork out up to £250 (i'm sure I could talk him down a little) on something I'm not sure will be that effective.

He told me it was for a subscription readership going out to 54,000 homes across Reading.

Maybe if some of you have used this publication before for advertising (even in a different area) maybe you could give me some feedback as to what sort of response you got.

I have recently spent £330 on a listing for yell.com as well as getting a load of leaflets printed off and a website mad up, so i'm sort of swayed to not wanting to spend anymore money, but if someone can tell me otherwise, then I may change my mind:)

You have not mentioned if its for some time or just for one print.

Depends what you want to achieve with your name.
Are you aiming to establish a strong name in your area ?
Do you wan't people to recognise your company  ?
or you need just extra customers to bring more business ?
if you aiming just for more business - there is more effective ways of gaining it and much cheaper.

Van signage, cost me £100 a month ago, work rolling  ;Din.
Thinking of removing it now, I don't want to be working 7 days a week
 ;D

Then turn what you don't want away, and dump your crap work. Don't fall into the trap of taking everything on mate.

Glad the signage worked for you. ;)
