advice on slx 18 please

are  the poles layed up the same way i e the supre max is ultra smoothe when extended  and the slx is not a smoothe weave on the pole there for not so easy to extend am i rite or wrong  my 18 is new and can be a bit stiff

Have you tried loosening the clamps a little, just quarter of a turn should do it.  Have the clamps done up to tight on any pole will result in excessive wear.

The clamps need only to "nip" the section to give enough grip to hold each section tight. If your clamps are adjusted too tight this can make them "stiff".  ;)
