di after pump, hose and fittings ?
« on: May 04, 2011, 07:06:49 pm »
got to buy a new head riser unit for my di vessel as it leaks badly (think the threads have had it )
anyhow want to set it up after pump in the van and would like to use better connectors than hoselock. I have plenty of spare 8mm minibore and was thinking of using that and ez snap type connectors for a completely leak free set up, is it suitable for this ? would it present any problems ? I use  5lpm vyair pump coupled with a digital crow electro flow controller and 60 meters of 6mm microbore hose.
Thanks
Simon

Geka connectors...great bits of kit...my whole system uses these...not much to go wrong with them, easy to connect/disconnect.

I have them on my membrane, di vessels in fact the only standard connect I have is the one connecting to the reel.

Great thing about them is that I use various hose dia and use them for all of them (reel and pole hose excepted).

Cheers
Dave.

I use hozelock fittings & have zero leaks, not even a drop apart from the one which goes on to the reel but this is cured with a new O ring.

I do find the newer style fittings better than the old ones though.

I have tank>pump>DI-1>DI-2>90m of 8mm hose.

thanks for the replies
after shopping around the main suppliers sites, a replacement head and riser without fittings was gonna be in the region of £35 plus postage so buying a whole reconditioned one off ebay

think I'll stick with hoselock fittings for now and 1/2" hose but will buy metal male parts and gardena end stops as they seem superior to some cheap plastic or brass ones
