Peter,

That looks really smart.  I'd heard you had a new brush out on Matt's DIY site that was meant to be 'cool' (quote taken from the author).

I've just ordered a Shurflo back-pack.  Would it be suitable for that?

Also, being a non-WF Poler at present (and a Geordie); don't you have to rinse the window by removing the brush from the glass in some circumstances?

Can you still do this, or don't you have to?

Hi Tosh,

You shouldn't have to rinse by removing the brush from the window on regularly cleaned windows.  I know I didn't have to, maybe something to do with the type of brush, but I don't know for sure.

You will be able to rinse with only the bottom bristles of the  brush on the glass, and the spray fan above them, by slightly changing the angle of the brush.  A pull cord could also be fitted to allow rinsing on really dirty windows that require the brush be removed from the glass.  I also have a couple of variations of the same type of brush, but I am concentrating on this one at the moment, which I think will be more beneficial to most users.

It may not do for 100% of all windows, but the high percentage of windows it will be good for, you should see a significant water saving, and some time saving as well.

Shortly you will be able to use it on any brush, but for the time being I will only be selling the set- up already fitted on to my brushes.  My brush fits on most poles, not sure about the Omni Power Pole though.

Is this brush easy to connect to a Shurflo back-pack, remembering my DIY skills are as good as my Arabic (Inch Allah - that's it - probably spelt wrong too)?

I'm guessing that there must be some 'communication' between the brush head and the pump?  And is that complicated to set up?

Sorry if this is a bone question.  But I can't imagine how the pump knows how to stop or switch off when the brush is taken from a window.

Its more to do with the brush fitting on the pole.  The brush would come on a standard angle joint, and is connected to the pole in this way.

This version of the Auto Brush is worked with a valve, when the valve is closed the water stops, when the valve is open the water sprays.

would this not cause problems with the pumps switch cycling on and off ?? ? ??

it does look well smart and a cracking idea, nice to see inventors trying to push the idea forward

I can't comment on other pumps, but the Shurflo is no problem whatsoever.  When the water stops, the pump will stop as well.  Even with a bypass fitted the pump will stop if the bypass is closed off, when the bypass is opened the water will simply circulate.

Like any system you don't want the pump running intermittently, if it does with a bypass open very slightly, you would just adjust it accordingly.

Peter,

I'll soon be receiving the shurflo back-pack.  I'm not sure if this is the same as the shurflo pumps they sell, as I think shurflo are just the distributors for the back-pack; so I'm not sure if they'll be compatible with your brush.

However, you always get an excellent press on this site.

I'm after a brush and a pole suitable to clean mostly 1st floor windows with the capability to clean 2nd floor (we'll be doing ground floor traditionally).

I'm on a budget but can spend around £150 on a pole and brush.  Have you anything to suit our requirements within this price bracket?

I've had a look round your site, but can't see anything.

Tosh,

The Auto Brush won't be ready for the market for two weeks, I don't know if you can wait that long.  I would be able to do an Auto Brush and pole for that sort of money.

Peter, I can wait mate.

It'll take me that long to get my RO and water storage etc.

I've waited long enough to start getting set-up, so another two weeks is no problem.

Will send you an e-mail.

Good luck with the new brush.

Regards,

Tosh.

Hi Peter,

As you know I have one of your systems, and I am also really interested in your new brush setup.
I haven't looked at in in great detail as yet, but is the brush on the video a slightly smaller one than the one I would have?
Or I should say, can you also do a smaller brush head?

I mean't to ask you that when I spoke to you on the phone while I was order the parts I bought off you.

Tosh,

Anytime you wish to see the inside of my pump box, and the way that Peter connects up the pump you are more than welcome.

As I said somewhere else on here ??? 18 months now of daily use and the pump is working just fine.

Time to get back earnin' I dressed in the dark this morning...not a good idea, when it got light my tee shirt looked like something you would use to wipe down an oily engine with :-\

So nice clean tee shirt now on, and it's back to work I go 8)

Regards,

Ian

Hi

I'm also interested as the brush we're using at present ( which wasn't exactly cheap) is hopeless for some jobs.

Problem is I can't get the video to play. I downloaded the plug in, all 32Mb of it, and it still soesn't play.

Cheers

I'm having the same problem viewing the video too and have even tried through links posted elsewhere without any success.

Peter - I've had your trolley system for the past nine months (its more than paid for itself already) - can I use the new auto brush with it?
