How best to clean Brass
« on: April 28, 2011, 07:08:55 pm »
I have a bar which I am starting , its high end with loads of brass tables.
The preivious contractor was using a hand held car valleting buffer which
does not seem to be ideal. Any suggestions on how best to handle all of the brass
which is cleaned daily seven days a week. Thanks all !

The reason your brass needs such regular cleaning is because of the cleaning solution left on it each time it is cleaned

(sigh) it is the soap/brasso/chemical that is used on the brass that encourages the dirt to stick and the brass to look off

Try tomato ketchup or even brown sauce, spread all over wipe dry wipe clean with damp microfibre leave to dry to streak free finish

Next day quick wipe damp micro fibre easy peasy

depending on amount of traffic once weekly with the ketchup

It is the acetic acid (vinegar to you and me) in the ketchup. :o

You could just as easily use vinegar neat on it, but the smell might be overpowering. ;D
