Hello,i`ve increased my water flow at the brush head in the last week(1 to 9,was on 4 now on 6). I prefer this higher flow,large dirt/spider web clusters/ objects etc flush away much quicker and this has given me confidence to rinse faster and walk away. Most of the crap has rinsed down after 2 cleaning strokes anyway as i perceive it with increased flow.Downside is i might have to go bigger tank/vehicle but thats not my concern.
 So what is?
Well there are people on this forum that have given me the impression that less flow/water use is a progression with wfp and perhaps is to be aimed for. Got to say though that currently i think totally opposite and this extra flow i have gone to seems to be making the job easier,a flick of the wrist gets visible muck gone rather than chasing it about with dribble,though i wouldn`t describe my previous flow rate as dribble ,just using this term to illustrate my point.

                        So am i heading in the wrong direction?,any thoughts welcome.

I'm with you on this one...

I use a Varistream controller and was using it on setting 4... Now I use ot on 5 and it makes cleaning a window a lot quicker!

I think there are 2 camps on this subject - those using as little water as poss and those that use high flow.

of those that use very little water i believe it came about because they use back packs or trolleys so need to preserve the water for as long as poss.

i'm the in high flow camp and also use fan jets + AD - i believe that a good soaking cleans better and eliminates the
chance of spotting preserving water from the van is low priority for me - using the AD helps and all water used is on the frame and glass.

hats off to those like Jeff that can clean a house with a thimble of water and not get spotting. their technique is probably far better than mine!

I stripped down my combo to get more payload  

Side panels (inside),spare tyre,carpets,glove box compartment off.

I'm looking for sport/bucket seats these days,as standart seats weigh at least 25 kg each.

After the seats changed i think i will have around 100 kg more payload (690 kg) so i can stick a 500 lt flat tank in there.

I agree with all of the above , i am a bloke who likes to cut costs , i've tried it all , low flows , by passes , you name it i tried it , then i tried banging up the flow , it worked a treat , i found the time you save on each house far outweighs the water use , more water , less time taken , time is money , i bet if you try it then you wont be worse off , if you work 25% faster and use 25% more water what have you lost ?
Nothing , you just get to go home earlier , or refill and work longer earning more !

I melted my controller awhile ago and made up a return pipe to get me out working again but i spend most of my day working on full flow and prefer it, im sure the windows are cleaner and my work rate is definately up, stick it up and get working!

Get rid of the flow controllers and have high flow rate work quicker it's that simple!!!!it is possible to over complicate a job

I upped flow by 25%  as a test throughout last week and used less water each day as I was getting through the cleans so much quicker.

Saving water is short sited as we do float dirt of the glass as a low flow means the water does not have a good chance to remove dirt and on first cleans it just spells disaster.I use a back pack and its wise to go back a collect more water.

I am glad this post come up. when i first started window cleaning i used the pump connected strait to the battery and never had any problems until i tried the pure freedom flow con. it was working fine but using the flow on about 50 i found myself going slower and not earning as much money so i turned me flow back up but found the battery's going flat to quick due to the controller taking amps out of the battery as well as the pump so i tried the pump on its own and by god it brings back the good old day so i mite stop this way and buy a bigger tank.

PS has anybody tried checking there volt readings on the flow controller when the flow is set to high and the water is turned on you watch the volts come strait down and i mean strait down more so than with out the controller. Dave

A good fast flow rate u work faster less mistakes if any seriously get rid of the controllers
