They're undercharging; I charge at least £30 for a semi, takes me no more then ten minutes.

Landscapers?  Busy fools.  ;D

yes the guy is so clever he spent 10k and 3 1/2 years on his degree only to be more poorly paid than some
uneducated 'dodgy' guy with a ladder - so who's the bigger fool ?

this thread does show what other sectors and services think of us w/c's and of course what we think of them,

the comment ' any idiot can push a mower ' did come to mind as i read the thread and many gardiners i know of only do just that - if you are a proper landscaper then we are talking a whole different ball game.

Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

Guys, if window cleaning were perceived as some sort of high status, high earning job, what do you think would happen?

I even like the misperception that window cleaners are nothing more than burglars in disguise; I hope it makes my customers think that they should stick with the devil they know rather than the one they don't.

I vote we sign up and troll the forum though.   ;D

I've just signed up, but I've got to finish cooking dinner before I get started.

I have a customer that is a landscaper/Gardiner, I picked up the job while doing a job whilst she was there doing landscape work, we both arrived for payment at the same time for work done, I got £12 for twenty minutes work and she got £24 for 2 hours work.

I still have both on my books and the Gardiner pays me £20 for around 40 minutes work on a far superior house than the one we were both working on :o so she grafts hard and make her money and so do I, and she knows she is getting a good deal from me, I did extra work for the Gardiner and when completed she had worked out what I would charge to the penny ;) and paid without any problems

Most of them are alright but there are some right idiots on there sometimes.  One of them this morning is suggesting that we can clean all windows with a soapy pad and a pole. I've suggested that if he's got leaded windows he might like to pop outside and try it - with the sun on them as well  ;D
