Ben, I use a couple of different spread sheets, which works for me.  But remember when storing loads of important data on computer; you should make regular back-ups in both magnetic media and hard copy format  (ie save them to disk/CD and print out the information on a weekly; at least; basis.

That way, should your computer 'die', you still have the information.  If you wanted to be ultra safe, I believe there are web-sites you can save your spreadsheets too; at minimal cost.

Alternatively, George systems sell a package for around £50 which often gets a good press on this site.  Click on the search function at the top of the screen and type in 'George'.

I'll go with Tosh regarding back up I used to do mine every week, for years then bit by bit  backed info up less often,
then guess what yes my box of tricks had a nevous break down..

I had to drive around my round and relist every customer, price and next clean due, also had to try and remember who owed me cash..
I now have daily hard copy kept for five weeks and monthly disc back up..

Computers save you loads of time but can also eat loads of time as you keep finding lots of new unimportant things to do on it

The secret is not doing as you like but liking what you do

Saw this on ebay

Might be of use
Ben
As others have said - frequent backups are vital.
If you don't use George's web backup service, it's a good idea to back up files to webspace.  I use a service called File Genie  (   www.filegenie.com   ) .
I set up MS Works to keep my  records on. It took quite a lot of tweaking but have things as I want them now.
Anyone who uses software (such as the one mentioned on the ebay link) that requires MSWord, MSExcel etc may be able to get away with buying the M$Office (megabucks TM)software.  There is a program called Open Office  at   (   http://www.openoffice.org/    )   .  It is a free download although the size of it makes it more appropriate for broadband users.  It is almost entirely compatible with MSOffice.  However, any occasional compatibility problems are when trying to switch between MSOffice and OpenOffice.  If someone starts a file in open office and sticks with it themn it needn't be an issue.  If you don't already have MSOffice and feel that you need it to work with other software, maybe try saving a bundle of money by trying Open Office first.

I got the same one off eBay and it seems to work fine.
Only had it for a month and still playing around with it.

The window cleaning software sold on eBay on this link currently

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4428421661&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

I am the creator of this and work as a window cleaner too.  It is so simple to use and you will always have a back up of your work because you print off your days/ weeks work and keep that on you.  It is also recommended that you file these so you never lose your work.

Thanks Amir,
