i need to spend a day with you as i could never get them done that quickly unless they were fairly clean already, however the times i've put are just examples for the post and not what we actually use.
what do you use? i know you've said harpic but this is never any good for getting the thick brown limescale in the corners of shower doors which is where most of my time is spent.
Hi
Yeah, that stuff is a nightmare.
with most solutions it comes down to dwell time. we cannot put something on and then wipe it off straight away, an example is a biocide, it needs a dwell time of 15 mins.
With Harpic limescale remover i only usually leave it on aluminium sinks for at most a minute so i dn't get tarnishing.
With the brown gunk at the bottom of showers you can leave it on longer and let it penertrate and use a toothbrush to get in the awkward areas or a scourer for harsher agitation.
i usually use harpic on the handbasin, shower, bath and tiles to get rid of all the basic limescale, rinse off with the shower head and then squegee off the excess and then wipe off with kitchen towel, for the brown stuff in shower corners I squirt it on and leave for longer, sometime you need to chip it off with a screwdriver or blade (glass scraper)
The glass scraper also gets an oven glass down or glass hob top done sharpish.
To strip a greasy extractor hood, a metal scourer and neat
BIO Persil will have it gleaming in under 2 minutes.

Martin
