blocks of flats with balconies

newbie looking for way in to market
large new development of up-market flats with balconies nearby , floor to ceiling windows, glass balconies, business people.
good op me thinks, esp since you can see not been cleaned.
some balcs you can get from one to next, but not many, therefore either enter through flats or enter throu flats and do some mad abseiling one to nother.
well, ok, access through flat (for a start!)
Question then: anyone had experience of doing this kind of work?
what is a successful way of canvassing?
maybe work for the evening when people are in. perhaps not desirable.

seems like good market though, hundreds of flats.
(don't tell gordon!) :P

any help much app.

Hi Ben

That's a difficult one.

It may be best to start with the landlords/managing agents of the property. Usually there is a small plaque somewhere near the entrance that has the managing agents/landlords details on it and then go from there.

As for your other questions - dunno. We've tried for a few blocks of flats but the logistics proved so difficult as some tennants wanted this day, others that day, some monthly, some wanted a call out service and so on.

Maybe other CUI members have more ideas.

Many years ago I did three blocks of flats (before WFP days) and I dealt with one person who lived in the flats he sorted price for whole job and paid for whole job, I think it was set up as some kind of building maintainance fee that all residents paid into, dropped the job early on (hard work) wish I had it now though be easy with a pole..

HI Benchan,

I would give the same advice as 'thewindowcleaner', most blocks of flats, especially new developments have a tenant management committee. However, also as 'Ross' has said, the building may have an external management agent.

If there is no details outside the entrance or inside relating to the managing agent. Send a letter to the building addressed to the Management committee. This should get you in the door.
