Bed bugs are a pest control problem and one that cannot be rectified with cleaning.
If you are going to go into bed bug infested properties you really need to know what you are dealing with as they are a pest that you can quite easily take home with you. I know that you will get idiots telling you of diy products etc that are available but you really do need training and qualificatikons to be able to deal with this specific pest responsibly. www.bedbugscardiff.co.uk will give you a little insight as to what you are up against. Training can be got from the B.P.C.A. or R.S.P.O.H.

You CAN exterminate bed bugs whether an idiot or not! There was some discussion on here a while ago which encouraged me to look into the subject and I found suppliers you could purchase from.
There are also courses available I don't recollect the details, but, unless you intended marketing the service ( could be well worthwhile ) it's not worth spending money on something that won't return your investment.
However, with carpet cleaning a bit erratic today, I would seriously consider this as a potentially profitable enterprise.
If I was 46 rather than 66 I'd be looking at the more specialised niches in our industry and this could be a potentially profitable one which could also open doors to carpet cleaning for the same clients.
You must do the research first and either find the market or create it.

pest control is a lucrative industry and a field worth looking at  but it needs to be done responsibly. I recommend any body to it but what I do not endorse is people with out training or qualifications exposing theiir customers to insectciddes without even having the liability insurance needed for the industry. Bed bugs are on the increase but can only be treated in a responsible way. I would suggest advice be sought from a pest control forum would be more practical than advice from a carpet cleaning forum.
