600 wow!

Maybe another DI after is needed. My RO takes water down to 20 - 40 then, i found the little 1 litre DI vessels werent up to the job so i have a 11 litre DI in van to polish it off.

If your RO is taking it down from 600 to 40 then there's nothing wrong with the RO.  Your DI should take out the rest with ease, are you using resin or packs?

I would change the resin in the DI and try it again, if you put 600 water straight through the DI it will f*ck the resin in no time.

Have you checked to see if the filters are sat in the housing correctly. An ill-fitted filter will allow water to bypass it, thus allowing dirty water through.

Take all your filters out and rreseat them, making sure theyre sat and sealed perfectly.

i had the same problem, check the di cartridge is sat right as the top black seal needs to be in the right place also check the resin you neeed to make sure there is enough in the cartridge so top it up and make sure its compacted in the cartridge if all else fails order a bigger di i have now got a 11 litre on takes my water to 0

i get 190 out off tap to 9 out off ro  with the old little di i struggled to get it below 2, i think they are not up to the job realy

i have that same one sat spare on a shelf.
my tds is 400ish before it went into the di it was down to 20 then out at 000.
so your water going into the di is high, doesnt the manual say it should be around 20 if working right.

now the di has had water through it i wouldnt try to get the filter out, disconnect the pipe and give the rest a good flush through.

With a tds of 600  a 4040 would have been a better option

Hi thanks for all your help i have took out the DI and left it running without that, and it's down to 37 at the moment, so it seems like the DI isn't making any differance,(why would this be?).
I bought this system as it was quite cheap i thought and had the booster pump as well but im on a tight budget i only want enough water to run my backpack for hard to reach windows so im not looking to make loads and loads.

You really need twin 11ltr di's,but its obviously more money which defeats your objective. With that system, your tds will never be low enough not to exhaust the resin cannister supplied

If i fail to get the TDS low enough with what i have would this be a good buy, or would i be better off buying an empty vessel and a 25ltr bag of resin.

If your tds is accurate then yes, that is the vessel you need. The one you linked too is very expensive so get two seond hand ones off ebay and a 25ltr bag of Tulsion. If its for a backpack then you won't need to change your resin for mnths/yrs

Just out of interest, where are you with an input of 600?

Hi i live near newmarket suffolk, the TDS meter is new but you may have a point even new things can be faulty,i did try it in some bottled water and it read around 90 (should bottled water be lower i dont know).
Ive just been out to check it again and whatever i do with the DI whether it's in or out ive even tried it both ways in the housing but im still getting no better than around 35.
