Mopping floors
« on: March 08, 2011, 09:29:22 pm »
Hi, We carry out cleaning to the communal area in a block of flats and have had complaints with leaving the wet floor signs out after the cleaner has left. The area is quite large and to save walking through a recently cleaned floor he cleans the floor last, obviously not leaving wet floor signs is not an option so has anyone got any suggestions?  I can suggest he can use less solution to decrease drying time however its still not productive having somone waiting for a floor to dry! The job is quite far away from others so i cant really justify him returning at the end of the day to remove signs.

Has anybody else come up with the same problem?
Regards

perhaps a dry microfibre mop or even just the same mop but dry and give it a once over. will help with drying times but not remove them. could also open doors to let air through when finishing and if possible have a fan. perhaps the cleaner could dry the main walk way and leave the rest to dry on its own

As above + leave some small detailing jobs last (right after mopping) and maybe put some overshoes on.

Just go over with a dry mop, or like soeone else said, leave a few small jobs to complete after mopping. Ideally, do both.

We do as Ian says. Once you have mopped, Go over with a dry mop.

Also I would ring the wet mop out to make it as less wet as possible. That also will help increase drying times.

Depending on how dirty the area is, you also spray mop. This is fine providing the area is not extremely dirty and does dry fairly rapidly.

Hi Lewis,

If there is a powere socket available at the flats, get your self a steam mop only needs to be a cheap one, will dry very quickly, job done!
