Do any of you guys use Facebook for your business or have facebook pages FOR your business?

If so, do you have links to it from your website? What kind of feedback do you get from the facebook page? What kinds of things do you use the facebook page for businesswise? ie; Quoting, networking, enquiries?

Cheers,

Matt

Its the connections you get that you can then approach and send them details of your services. Its not cold calling and if you the join one of the business groups and go to a braekfast meeting now and again you will pick up business. Breakfast meetings are early, you have to be aware of the potential to help others and then you get referred by word of mouth. It takes abit of time but worth it. Yes, I have picked up business.
(You,d have to dress relatively smart) then change into work gear afterwards. I,m sure you know the ropes tho.

looked into it and started doing these things and gave up. sure it's a good way to get some business if you do it right but there is better alternatives. facebook pages are better for products and large companies who want to come across as personal imo.

Blast Away - where did you find all the instructions on how to create all the profiles, pages, etc. on facebook? I've read somewhere that it's not so straight forward as you can't have a business profile on it, just a page  ???

Thanks

It's not so much a business profile in terms of registering. It's just a normal social profile for example with mine, first name; 'BlastAway', second name 'Cleaning'.

Add info and images and don't add to many people in short periods otherwise you'll have a warning leading to a ban if you ignore said warning.
I tend to add 10 people per log in. Choosing middle aged people who more than likely have their own property compared to the higher percentage of 15-25 year olds.

So that's the profile page. Then there's a group page and a Page.

Groups you can send out a block message to all members of the group with 5,000 members maximum.  Over that amount and the option is no longer available.
A page is good for widgets and Recommend and Like buttons like what you see on my website.
I've had a good few jobs from Facebook. All domestic.
