One of my clients has asked me to provide photo ID badges for the cleaners on her site - while I'm puzzled by the request since there's no one on site at all during our operational hours I'm always happy to meet client requests.

Are they a good idea at all? My resistance has always been on the grounds that they are more trouble than they're worth given the problems with people losing them, ex employees keeping them and, on the rare sites where they're being used and monitored, service disruption when security refuse access to staff who have forgotten them but I might be missing a point which hasn't been made to me.
