I find this sort of thing happens in my area in the spring and summer and when the winter comes they all go in hibernation. I always explain this to my custies and they agree and stay loyal. I have had a few that had left due to under charging and being promised the earth. There's nothing better when they come back to you cap in hand  ;D  ;D and you say told you so

Dont kid yourselves people are losing there jobs all over the place, government trying kick the scroungers off the benefits system, what do you think these people are going be doing?trying to earn a crust anyway they can that's what, some by stealing some by trying find a cash in hand job somewhere.I live in Wigan and believe me there are a lot of window cleaners round here but in last 2 years I bet the number has doubled

I've only been doing this 2 years now but I've noticed that each year around this time there seems to be a rise in window cleaners you see and concern on here that work will be hard to come by and customers pinched etc.Still picking up plenty of customers though, much more than last year and if you do a good job and are fairly priced you'll have no worries imo.If somebody goes with another cleaner for the sake of quid then good riddance to them.

i will second that

Happens every year one or two make a go of it but most only last a few months. I agree if a custy switches for a quid or two good riddance. When they come back the price has gone up!

Quite agree mate. Everytime I go out I see at least two new signwritten window cleaning vans in my area. I'm still picking up new work so good luck to them.
