Lee GLS (how much space in connect)
« on: January 26, 2011, 07:33:19 pm »
Heya , i was just wondering if you have any picts of your 650 connect set up?

recently i have been able to find a few decent milage connects on ebay for my price range i know the larger connect has a 900kg payload, which is good

Was wondering how much space you have for the poles reels etc, can you fit a pole rack in nicely ? ;D
i dont want a bulky van so its connect/vito/transporter and the connect seems to be the cheapest right now.

My laptop has broken so I'm doing it all from my phone, hope works
Here you go

Everything I need is in the van, but it is tight, I have to put the poles in drain pipe tubes hanging from the roof, you couldn't put a pole carrier on the side of the van because there is no room down the side of the tank.

Looking at the pics make me realise how much I need to sort the van out  :-[

The ro is on top of the tank. You need a 230 model to get the 900kg payload, im pretty sure they only come in hitop lwb, and I'm sure there is only 1 engine the 1.8 tdci which has 90bhp. The engines are good, they are pretty smooth and quite, and pull ok with the tank full. I wouldn't worry too much about the milage if the price is right I havnt had any probs with mine.

What's your price range?

Thanks Lee ,

what mileage have you got? and do you have a service history?how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking?

my price range is about £3k i have seen some on ebay recently for around that figure but it would be better to pick it up for 2700ish , i do fear high milage cos im crap at cars and diy lol.

Mine is a 2004 LX model is had 99000 when I bought it 5 months ago, didn't really have any history, but everything worked and it ran well. I paid £2600 for it, but I needed 2 tyres.

I also changed the cambelt when I got it to be safe.

It was on eBay, starting bid £3000, I called him and said I could have it for £2800 which I agreed to providing it was in the condition he said, and it pretty much was, but 2 tyres needed replacing and it only had 1 key so I got him down to £2600. I enjoy haggling too much.

Best place to look is eBay I found, everything on autotrader was traders and plus the vat. On eBay you get the private sellers and the prices are better. I would never bid on one unless you look at it first, or better still do a deL out of eBay which most seem willing to do.

That looks nice, it looks clean in the back, mine had crap everywhere, not bad milage either, I think 2900ish would be about right, see if you can have a look at it and strike a deal.

One thing I noticed with these vans I that people put car tyres not van tyres on them so check for that as you will be carrying near capacity load you will need the proper tyres on it.

ok thanks one more thing its an L yours is an LX no biggie i hope lol

Oh wont i need to remove all that ply for the coating and how much do you think those van tyres can cost i think he did say you might need to replace two of them quite soon where would be the best place to do that second hand i would think.

Think my 2 were £115 fitted at my house, what coating do you need to put on?

Mine had a plastic load liner under the ply floor so I didn't bother with the protector cote.

LX model has heated mirrors and heated front screen and an arm rest on the drivers seat. Some of them have aircon too

Of what concern is it of yours? Why are there so many idiots on here who have to stick there noses in.

If I start a topic asking do you think I'm over my payload? Then feel free to reply with your thoughts.
