clamps loose on glyder pole

I have two loose clamps on my pole.I tried no more nails but it did not hold.Any sugestions,

Gardiners sell a 2 part epoxy resin type glue, can buy something similar in DIY stores or get Ionics to send you some glue.
With the Gardiners glue you are supposed to leave it quite a few hours for it to fully set.
