the bfg

BUT THIS IS IMPORTANT

Got a call yesterday afternoon from an ex cuctomer who I dropped in Jan 2010 after they messed me about the previous year.

always had problems getting paid off them and cancellations so as I say I dropped them.

anyway the wife calls yesterday and says can I get roound there Monday morning as the windows are filthy and need a good clean.


me ......    sorry I dont clean your windows anymore and havent cleaned them for over a year now because of all the messing me about with payments and you cancelling all the time.


Her ....     yes but this is very important as we have friends coming over from the channel islands to stay for a few days and I need them doing before they come


me ....  well you best get the yellow pages out cos I wont be doing them sorry.      I did warn her a coupke of times while I used to clean them about her messing me about all the time and if it continued I would stop the service but she still messed me about.


her....   oh ok then I will call someone else.


me ...   good luck and a happy new year to you


no reply as her end went dead  but I like to think she wished me one as well  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

a woman on a compact estate i clean started messing me about years ago so i just stopped cleaning her windows then months later begged me to go back and she promised to pay me promptly (instead of 4 months later).anyway after a few months it started again and rolled over to 3 months owing.i knocked on and i could see her in the front room.SHE JUST RAN UP THE STAIRS AND WOULDNT ANSWER THE DOOR!! ::) ::) ;D

I eventually got the money off her about 6 months later.then ive never cleaned them for 5 or so years and guess what?a few months ago she approached me again(her windows have not been cleaned since last time i did them!)can you start doing them again?

i just told her matter of factly that i would never clean her windows again for as long as she lives there and that i dont apprieciate her running up the stairs instead of answering her door!i dont think shes gonna ask me again!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D


about 4 others on the same estate also know that ill never clean their windows again! ;) ;D ;D

Fair play. Us wcs shouldn't be taken for granted by anyone. The ones that try it on should get a yellow card followed by a red one. End of!!

I've read here that it's easier for a window cleaner to replace a customer, than it is for a customer to replace a window cleaner, and that's not only common sense; it's been my experience.

I've always dropped the customers that have messed me about and nine years on I have more work than I can handle, and they're all pretty decent customers; of course that doesn't mean to say they won't change; familiarity breeds contempt as they say.

I was getting fed up of one customer who kept me waiting for ages for payment. I went round this evening and she told me she had sent her cheque on Friday. Got home and there was the cheque along with a note saying not to clean any more! She didn't tell me that, but good riddance!  She was going to get dumped anyway. ;D

fair one, but i would have said £45 and your on, just for the hell of it, cash up front.

I had one of them customers three years ago. Last week a lad ask me how much to clean

and it was the house that owes me from three years ago and he did say he didnt live there

and its his cousin place and I told him NO and he asked why and when I gave my reason he

didnt try to argue about it. So of he went with his tail between his legs. ;D
