Got my immersion heater fitted with mechanical flange. All went to plan, no leaks, really neat etc.

However, I tested it yesterday for two hours & I'm not sure it's actually working. Water didn't feel any warmer, not bubbling from element etc. but electric metre was spinning fast so power was being consumed!

The immersion in my hot water tank (domestic) makes a noise like a kettle when it's on but the one in my tank doesn't make a peep!

Anyone?

I plug it in through an energy monitor. That way you can be sure.

try resetting it, some times they trip out when they are getting put in,  if not you might need a thermo

I can see a few tiny bubbles, I was just expecting at least some warmth after two hours?

The main issue I have is circulation. The heater is near the outlet so we turn it on and return it back into the tank. The temp creeps up slowly. I would not expect to see much warmth after 2 hrs.

It takes about 6 hours to get 750l hot.

Thats the problem ive been having Form B.... circulation.

I have a hole at the top on the other side of my tank... i'll stick my pump on and fit it that side ... cheers mate

2 of my vans have heater elements fitted, both 650l tanks. I find once the van starts moving and the water gets mixed up the temp drops a fair bit.
I was thinking of trying one of these to see if it helps. ebay Item number: 300502329740
It could run the whole time the element was on. They only draw about 20w so not going to make much difference to power draw.
