Happy New Year, back to the grind stone soon
« on: January 02, 2011, 07:46:42 am »
Happy new everyone!

Well we are getting ready for Tuesday as that is when we are back to work. So back to getting up early and late nights once again. Why did we ever choose to go into cleaning I will never know.

I will assume lots of you have been enjoying the holidays as the forum has been rather quiet of late.

Did anyone get any exciting presents?

I did get one exciting present - those of you who know me I am a Jaguar Enthusiast. I willl be soon taking delivery of a rather rare 1993 XJ12 6 LITRE V12.

And surprisingly its not a rust bucket. Nice interior leather and engine runs smooth - As you can see from the size of the engine I don't care too much about the ozone layer. - Sorry to disappoint any of your really green people.

i think youve just answered your own question,

why did you get into cleaning??

answer

so is it your new company car, and therefore offset against those huge profits. !

Hi Martin,

No not company car. My other X300 Sovereign is my company car.

I also own a few other Jags one of which is a 1978 XJS V12 5.3 LITRE.

My grandfather used to use 2 x mk10s for his cleaning business. They had a big boot to get all the kit in. He then bought a Daimler Majestic Mwjor to go with them so he could fit more staff in!!!

So he actually used them for work to carry the equipment? Wow! The only difference with the Daimler was the picnic trays in the back and the D badge.

MK10 were launched about 1966 and were known as a 420G and were aimed at the American market and not the UK but was successful so they launched it in the UK and was at the time one of the widest production cars ever built.

No I don't do that as you can see we use Vauxhall Vivaro's to carry the equipement and they are sign written.

I use the X300 to drive and meet the clients only unless they want a demo.

He sure did.
He also had a DB5 but he sold it when he realised it would do 140mph  :'(
He was totally car nuts. He would go out on a Saturday, buy one, then have it sold and another bought before he got home.
