we allow for 4 weeks off including weather issues.

Taken a total of 2 and a half weeks this year. We were supposed to have this week off because of not working last but we got bored  ;D

The last few years it's been one week away plus a couple of long weekends.  I did go away three times a few years ago though because there was free accommodation on two of the breaks.

I really cannot see the point in this game if you only take 1 or 2 weeks a year off!! What a waste of a life, May as well be working in a factory, at least you get 4 weeks minimum plus bank hols off. Its been my first year (started Nov 09), and to be honest I have had far too much time off, partly to not having a full round, partly to childcare arrangements and mainly to me being bone  :-[
Next year I plan on hitting things a lot harder and being stricter with myself, This last month has crippled me financially. I will be working every day I can during the week, and then doing every other Saturday for at least a few hours. It looks like I will be having a week off in the summer hols, a couple or 3 days for shrovetide football in Ashbourne http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=shrovetide+football+2010&aq=1 and then taking 3-4 weeks off in December/January if all goes to plan.

The difference is, I actually enjoy this job. I used to have 29 days holiday in my old job and I used to take unpaid as well and I still hated going into work.

If I wanted more holiday I'd take it, I just like what I do  :)

I agreee Chopsie.
I'm only frugal with holidays due to having a lot of debt right now.  Have to adapt to circumstances.  2 - 3 years time should see me taking a bit more time out.  Although I don't go away a lot, I do like to get away for days out on weekends when I'm not working.  Lots of galleries and museums to visit in winter and some beautiful open spaces and beaches in summer.  This might sound funny but I intend to do the Winnie the Pooh trail in East Sussex next summer.  Not done that one before.

My motto is work hard and play hard. This year I've had 3 holidays abroad and a few weekends away. Plus the last couple of weeks due the weather. Ive worked the last two days though.

After this winter Paul I might be frugal with holidays, as my debt mountain is growing  :'(  Its not that much in the grand scheme of things, but seeing as i am not earning big bucks it seems a lot more.

Matt Bateman & John K, the question was how many week holiday, not where do you go, look at me i go abroad 5 times a year im so wonderful.

He asked how many weeks holiday people took per year, there were people saying how many days off they take for bad weather, which isnt what he asked (such as yourself, twotering on about the snow, well in that case it isnt a holiday, its enforced leave). I was answering the question in addition to clarifying that it was only the question I was answering. In other words I wasnt suggesting additional information he hadnt asked about. Can't you read a question and answer it succinctly?

And I didnt say where I go, but now you mention it its usually Egypt. Im considering Mali this coming year for 3 weeks as well as a cruise, a small road-trip around America, a weekend in Las Vegas as well as Madrid a month in Oz and the odd week working, which is a breeze to me as my work is so well fecking paid.

As for your comments, you are a rude little man.
