One of the great things about WC is that you can earn what you want {within reason}. If you want to earn £60 a day, that's fine, if you want to earn £400 a day, that's fine too. Horses for courses as they say.
I have a simple plan, year 1 £25k, year 2 £45k year 3 onwards £60k. If I don't get to the £60k figure I might give myself a written warning  :) That is the best thing about being a WC, your the boss and your business can be whatever you want.

Tom, I like your thinking.

I really want a 3 yr plan as well - I don't want to be in the same position in year 2 as year 3.

Would the figures quoted be realistic for a domestic WFP operator.
As I have been cleaning domestic for about 6 years with WFP and would never be able to achieve these figures.

Andy.

Hi Andy, I would say they are achievable but to do it you would have to work hard and get your system "optimised for speed". I am just getting my head around what is needed. Originally, I did not want to work Saturdays, but after the poo weather we have had it has made me rethink. I have also turned work down because the customers requested Saturdays due to security issues etc. So now my idea is to work every other Saturday even if I have had a good full week in nice weather. Get the van system working for me properly, because one of our challenges is physically tiring. My right elbow is killing me for example just now. I am going to get lighter poles and an electric hose reel set up like Lee's and Slumps. This will allow me to do more jobs in the same amount of time. Very importantly you have to value your work. This means pricing it right. I have a minimum charge for a three bed semi and never go below it. Plus I target larger houses and am doing driveways as well now. there are lot's of WC's earning much more than £60k by the way, they are just more business minded in their approach.

You know I think a lot of window cleaners should go on a basic business course - even a part time one! It would be so beneficial.

Tom, how long have you been going for? I really admire your aspirations.

Hi Tom - just wondered what your min price is for a 3bed semi - mine is £10 but i often feel pressured to go below that.

Your prices are just about double what I can get round here.

Most of mine are 6 or 8 weekly though & only 1 in each area. If i could do a few without moving the van they'd get a discount.
The cost of living in ireland is nuts too,... so prices have to be high.

Same here Nat, but soldiers are from all over the UK. Now and again you hear a sharp intake of breath when you quote, but either they take it or leave it. Some will, some wont..................

€15 is about 12.50 quid at the moment I think.
