i get mixed up with different user names.Do you use the quad?

How did the snow plough clearing supermarket car parks idea go? i saw on the news tesco had their own, did they nick the idea after you approached them?

They'd nicked enough of my ideas.

Slumpy - please don't encourage him !

between 20 & 60k hmmm...  ok i'm in the ball park then (just)

there are many factors controlling your income, if your happy with what your making
then what more could you ask for !

Don't worry about what others earn/say they earn - if your not making a living or happy with
your lot at the end of the day - work harder or put your prices up

You should plan for your turnover to be at least double the average industrial wage in your area,.... because after tax, equipment & running expenses you're only left with half! So if you can't meet that target you'd be better off in a "real job".

As mentioned previously, there is a lot of down time in this industry, due to weather, equipment & vehicle problems, sickness, and simply the time it takes to run a business like invoicing, paperwork, meeting the accountant & running to the bank etc etc,.. it all takes away from time spent on the glass. Plan to work 5 days a week but plan to earn enough to survive in just 4,..

I just wondered as 1 man business myself, as a frame of reference, what other window cleaners earn per week?

These weather conditions aside!

my wife got me a book for christmas
which i took a look at before she took it off me
its about the money side of things for window cleaners
nothing much about equipment or cleaning other than a short list at the back

What book is that then Alex amigo?

here you go amigo

i'll give a (brief) book review in the new year

i would say that if you have pretty avarage work you should be on about 150-200 quid a day. so around 700-800 quid a week resonable. ignore all those that gloat about earning 1000 a day although it is possible if you have well paying contracts.

some going if you can do 300 x 5 every week. Alone i try aim at 200. With help on downstairs 300 to 350 ... But i have days that are much more some that are less. But generally i hit my figure. But the previous post about 700to 800 for average and upto and just over a 1k i think is reasonably possible for a one man wfp putting in the hours. But im sure some are doing much more and others will be Happy doing much less. Same with all trades.

I believe that the £37k is in addition to your basic allowance though so a profit of around £43k before your percentage goes up to 40%.  So a single WFP operator would probably need a turnover of at least 48k and in all probability, quite a bit more.  Not that I'm anywhere near that myself.
