Sean would it be ok to ring you and have a chat about fitting thge immersion heater to a tank,
becouse my mate whos a plumber said he would source the parts for me and fit them if i could get the info on how to do it, cheers mike

No bother at all,are you sure your mates a plumber?  I have my doubts if its worth all the hassle of timers/early morning etc.and unless you put the money to one side(unlikely)then the electric bills are not going to be pleasant,i have a feeling its a bit gadgety and i`ll dump its use as i think i am slowly realising i  prefer the simple life.

How are you guys powering the immersion? Just via a 13A extension or what?

It IS a slight hassle to start with, but as with anything, you get used to it and now I hardly notice any hassle.

I've got an extension permanently plugged in on a timer in the garage, all I have to do is drag it out to the van, plug it in, and lock the van up..   toasty!
