I think if we did not have land rovers we would be going nowhere in vans, winter tyres or not. The big piles of snow are still there from the last lot.

About another foot so far this time round.

No chance here.
Absolute drivel saying get out there.

You won't get where you want to, and it'll freeze up anyway.

Agreed. Yesterday was supposed to be busiest shopping day of the year. Turned out to be the quietest because of heavy snow everywhere. Heathrow and Gatwick were closed all day. I did go out myself but in my car (front wheel drive) ran out of milk. Sainsburys was like a ghost town!!!

I am broker than a broke man in brokeshire. If this winter does not finnish me off (financially) then I will learn for next year. Plan is to get a hot system (cheapo one i.e L5 or fogwash), Put money away for winter (if i ever clear my bills  ::)) and looking into taking my hols in winter rather than summer, But girlfriends a teacher so might not pan out with her having 6 weeks off, may just have a week in summer then perhaps have about a month from about christmas, dependant on weather.

If you're girlfriend's a teacher you've stuffed up somewhere!
I live on my own and have to pay everything, including for my daughter, and I'll manage.

Bloody hell, wish I was with a teacher, we'd be loaded!

She is not just a teacher, She is an assistant head teacher  :P. Yes if it were not for her I would be screwed, she bought us a house, and pays mortgage etc. I am supposed to contribute, but with cars and vans needing sorting out and no work etc I cannot. I think she is ok about it, But i feel guilty, If it were the other way round like it was with my ex wife (nearly) I would not be bothered. But does not feel right. I used to support ex and my family, she did not have to work.
