DOWN GOES THE BFG
« on: December 18, 2010, 08:14:58 am »
Was doing a new cleam on a new build yesterday and while working around the back which was still more or less waste land as the swimming pool hasn't been built yet,   when suddenly I slipped and went over on my left ankle quite badly

at first I actually thought I had broken a bone as it was really painfull and when I stood up I felt a real sickly feeling.

anyway managed to hobble and finish job ( 16.10 )  and drove home,   well Ive had it elevated and hot and cold packs on and today its still quite tender and quite swollen too.

have work booked for today and to be honest I'm not looking forward to it as we already have a dusting of snow with more forcast for later.

Sorry to hear that fella :(   I bought some "yax trax" for my shoes on thursday and they are brilliant. They are made of rubber and stainless steel spring like material. They stretch over the soles of your shoes and when walking on snow or ice, it feels like you have spikes on your shoes. They are brilliant, well worth the £10 :)

heres some jokes to cheer you u up bfg

A kid was walking down the street, when a car pulls up alongside him.
''I'll give you £10 and a bag of sweets if you get in the car'' the man said.
''No chance'' said the kid.
''Well what about £20 and a bag of sweets?'' the man offered.
''Look dad, f**k off, I'm not going with you to watch that poope at Anfield today''

Players and staff from Liverpool went to Alderhey Childrens Hospital today to visit the children on the wards.
''It was great to just to put a smile on the face of those less fortunate than us and who face an uncertain future'', said James, aged 7 of Bootle.

Liverpool FC's games are now being shown live on Gay TV.
Sky felt that the sight of 11 arseholes getting hammered for 90 minutes was just too explicit for their viewers

would have that checked out asap as could be a hairline fracture rather than a break.

I know a little about twisted swollen ankles, and I believe the current advice is to ice it (as soon as possible), don't do the heat pads, and rest it.

And take an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen.

A stitch in time saves nine; that's definitely true with injury and sickness.

Also, because you've possibly stretched a tendon - you're at further risk from twisting the ankle again in the next six months or so.  The reason is, that when your tendons stretch to a point, a signal gets sent to your brain to correct your position.  But when they've been 'over stretched', you can twist your ankle, and the same message is delayed getting sent to your brain, so your body doesn't rectify your position; resulting in another twisted ankle.

Wor Lass is a mong and went through a phase of twisted ankles because of her fell running activities; and the above is what her physio told her.

Have an early break for Christmas!  ;D

They are really stretchy, so I would go for the slightly smaller size, Im a 10 and have big karrimor hiking shoes and went for the large which fit perfect!! Been out on my driveway this morning and after the snow we have just had followed by -7 all night it is sheer ice and it is like I am walking on tarmac!! BRILLIANT THINGS!!! ;D
