People who email me and don't say "thanks"
« on: December 16, 2010, 09:12:49 pm »
I've had enough now.  Anyone who emails me for information off forum and doesn't bother to respond with even a "thank you" gets named and shamed on here.

I'm not angry, just disappointed, as it makes me less likely to put in any time for the next person.

Well i'm a bit guilty. You sent me an email- which i very much appreciated- and didn't respond......

I was in Turkey the next day, and despite staying at a hotel -the titanic- named as one of the best hotel's in the world it had no wi fi.My brainstorming at the hotel didn't come to anything, but i did get a breakthrough a couple of weeks after i came back.

You came across to me as a very bright and switched on .Your background in marketing etc makes you an especially good person to know. The only bit i didn't like was your readyness to share info.If possible i like to stay about three years in front of this forum (how they laughed when i told Alex the future was hot and how an demand system would be the norm), but to maintain this there has to be an element of keeping ones gob shut.

That`s just the tip of the iceberg.

It wasn't aimed at you - I saw your post when you came back.

Any sharing was going to be on a purely quid pro quo basis.  I give nowt away for nowt.  I certainly don't put my best stuff on here.

For Ewans benefit;

The original joke was by Bob Monkhouse
"How they laughted when i said i was going to be a comedian.-(slight pause)- They're not laughing now!"

And Ewan this was over three years ago, and while you've been playing catchup ever since i've moved on.Watch and learn kid. ;D

Absolutley unbeliavable. Couldn't make this stuff up. Why don't you email him direct and tell him to keep his mouth shut. Three years ahead, you some sort of joker?

Lots of professional window cleaners are still laughing slumpbuster, they know when and when not to use heated water.  ::)

Doubtless he'll delete this and make your response meaningless, Slumpy.

I'm not joking about this Mike.I've always been on the cutting edge, but the rest of you do catch up.Take collecting, the majority used to collect, the majority now does not do that. I didn't invent not collecting, but as soon as i got a sniff of this i was all over it like a rash.I do lots of things that you don't do now, but in the future you will and wonder at the fact that you couldn't see it for yourself.

A few weeks ago i put a couple of simple logic problems up on here, vin was the only one to solve the problem. This is probably not just to do with brightness, but being bothered. I can be bothered and will devote hours of thought to what may appear simple problems.Hence my remaining three years in front despite a keen chasing pack.

I'm only new here and from what i see, the likes of Gardiners, J.Brimble and P.fogwill seem to me to be cutting edge. But if you are too, i'll take your word for it. You're operating in the background eh? Like your style !!!! Ninja !!! Oh, hang on, that names been taken  ;D ;D

Mike Id be interested to know why you think these guys are cutting edge.

I think one is personally, one might be but dont know that much about him and the other, no way.

Gardiners took jeffs big idea and ran with it.Some of jeffs stuff, like low water usage, is a cul de sac.Peters stuff doesn't evolve.

Alex is pretty impressive. When he was on here he was also very well liked and helpfull. He was the closest thing this forums ever had to an expert. But when he was unsure who did he ask.Who was the expert's expert? Well a couple of times to do with hot systems, and electric reels he asked me. ;D

Hope this helps.

Credit where it’s due slumpy

Maybe the first window cleaner using a an electric hose reel, other than that absolutely nothing you have done is new or cutting edge

You’re not even up to date, catch up  ;)

I'm surprised Ewan hasn't suggested the only thing you're
noted for slumpy is talking about how great you are as opposed to Mr G whose humility was one of his most attractive attributes  8)

Without going into detail they provide stuff and ideas that are actually usefull and doesn't cost 5 grand !!

Very nice of you to point this out Mr Griffin.I'm too modest to confirm this of course, but cheers. ;D

There have been experts, but narrowing it to new and innovative ideas cuts things down.I could list what the ideas were.Alex's first was the shorter closed lenght that you now all take for granted.Jeff was fishing poles and working at heights.
