anyone got a connect crew van if you have what size tank can you fit in the back with the seats up

I haven't, but you need to firstly advise what model van it is, as that will determine what its payload is rated at. (I think that Ford used to make a purpose built crew van which may have a lower payload that the original van with a rear seat conversion).
If you are going to put the tank behind the back seats, then you will have to ensure that you don't exceed the rear axle weight as the weight of the tank will be concentrated on the back axle.
So if your van is based on a T230 LWB then you could just get away with a 650litre tank with minimal equipment and one operator before reaching it's payload of 900kgs. But to do this the tank is mounted length ways and just behind the drivers seat so the load is spread between the front and rear axles.
I think you would struggle with anything bigger than a 250l tank in that position. The next size up from 250 is 350litre and I would definitely think that would be too heavy in that position. But then this is my opinion as a window cleaner and not Ford's technical designer.

Need to add to the above.

Currently Ford have 2 crew vans, in either a short or long wheel base version, and both have lower payloads than their van equivalents.
The LWB crew van has a payload of 755kgs as opposed to 888kgs of the T230 LWB.
(The short wheel base has a payload of 718kgs, as opposed to the T200 with  634kgs and the T220 of 829kgs.)

Looking at the specs of the LWB crew van and T230 LWB van they are similarily plated, so the reduced payload is because of the additional equipment carried, ie seating etc.

I would contact Ford Technical and ask them to tell you what weight the rear axle will carry if the weight is to be put behind the rear seats and that should give you a starting point. Also you may try your local weigh bridge as they should be able to tell you what weight is on the back axle with the vehicle empty, and this amount subtracted from the max axle weight will be the figure to work from.

IMO, with the tank that far back, I would ensure that the fitting is done very securely. That tank could have a long way to fly in the even of an accident.

I have one.I used to have an Ionics PRO -6 400 litre fitted - thats as far as you should go with this van.
That was with the rear seats removed.
With the seats in place you could probably put in a 300 litre tank.

Can you let Chopsie know that I have snow tyres fitted to this van also

Been looking myself,
I use STD connect at mo with 350 litre PF, no problems.
I would contact ford head office I think at brentford essesx.
What concerns is mounting a tank a fair distance from centre of two axles.

Those tech probes aside,
The crew van is a lovely solution to carrying passengers.

thanks for the replys i need a different motor in the new year for work and for the kids on my days off the pay load is 725-755 i think but cant find out the size of the rear space all i need to put in their is a tank, pump pole and bucket for the odd bit of trad.

didn't want to phone ford as all they want is to get your details so the can send you crap in the post and to be honest most of the sales people don't know about the crew cab motors they just quote what is said in the book which is cubic meter/litres i want to know what the size is eg cm inches

thanks for that  the size is 90cm by 120cm with the seats upright so the 500lrt tank will fit in the swb but i think for the weight side of things the 350-400 would be better would the 350-400 be enough water for one person doing about 5 hours a day
