ive been told i need to recalibrate my pump but dont have a clue how to do this. help please??

pump takes ages to turn off. at least 30 sec. then when go to next window the water is fleeing out of brush. also repaired 4 hoses that burst today cause of pressure building up.

i would check the pressure switch, sounds like you need a new one..

there is a tiny allan screw on the top of the pump, well top if the bits where the hose goes in. you turn on the pump and run it then turn of then turn that allan key till it turns off after a couple of seconds.

Although I am not sure if it works if you have a varistream etc

Then it has nothing to do with the pump and the varistream needs calibrating and someone else will need to answer as I don't have one

there is a screw on the pressure switch theat you turns. i think if you turn it in it make the switch switch more sensitive.  i have always used varistreams so i am not to sure...  contact williamson pumps i have always found them very helpful

On the digital Varistream the pressure shut off is set by up/down arrows on the outside of the box via the digital display.  Mode selection is holding both up & down buttons for 3 seconds which takes you into the pressure setting mode. Adjust to desired setting (0 -9 & A,B,C,D,E & F, F being the highest). To confirm new pressure setting turn unit off & back on.

I had loads of trouble with mine last week. I have put it down to the cold weather.
I use a trolley system that carries 2 x 25 litre containers, all of these containers had ice in with the water.
At these temperatures the water becomes thicker, this in turn requires a bigger draw of amps from the pump. The Varistream works by measuring the amps, so will shut off quicker in these conditions. Ok you can adjust for this, but as the water gets low in the container there is more ice than water, so it gets even thicker.
The problem then arises when you change containers and your running on thinner water, you then have too much pressure and it won't switch off.
I have a smaller pump that works with a 12 volt motor speed controller. Next time I'm working at zero degrees I will use this one instead.
Back packs work fine, and all they have is a device that changes the pump speed.
A speed controller is a lot cheaper than a Varistream too.
I think I paid about £24. just google 12 volt motor speed controller.
