keep the barrels by a radiator will get you about 20 degrees over night or fill via di from hot tap is what I do.

between 40 to 60 quid will get you a hot outside tap, or do it yourself would be cheaper.

It would be no difference from sticking a cold outside tap in and that roughly the price for that. I could be wrong there is a few ex plumbers on here maybe they will know.

That Duke guy had a vid on you tube I am sure a few years back. A kettle element fixed into his backpack and it worked well from what I could see.

I've been looking at these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hot-water-heater-eliment-12v-Car-12-volt-element-van-/300448082896?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45f419ebd0

I think it would be ideal run it straight from the cig lighter.

Gordon
Quality is doing it right, even when no-one is looking.

the only thing i found that works is taking containers in the house and chucking a cheap double duvet over them (my wife thinks its great having 8 containers in the kitchen) water gets up to about 4 degrees then  when i  put  containers in  my motor , i use duvet to cover containers and trolley  i also use IPA  when temps drop below freezing , At the moment its 5 degrees outside thinking of getting my shorts and a t_shirt  on for work today

They take 30 minutes to boil a cup of water,.. you'd need something a LOT more powerful.

Seen that vid wit kettle element in bk pack, yes looks great but really in practice is it worth the effort?were u going plug it in?so u get between 15 and 18 litres from it before u have plug it in again,I don't think much thought went into it really
