Hey guys,

When you quote for a window, do you include cleaning of the frame and sills in the quote or do you charge extra?

Yeah it does seems crazy to charge extra considering it is part of the window,lol

When i was trad it was just a sill wipe, anyone wanting frames cleaned were charged 2 or 3 times the window cleaning price.
Now in WFP i do everything plus doors, regardless if the have glass or not, i push it as a selling point and most wfpers on here will say the same

are you trad or wfp, if trad than charge extra for frames, but do the sill as part of the normal clean, if wfp then dont charge extra, its all part of the job.

i sell myself using the fact i clean the glass, frames, doors & window sills EVERY time !

like many i throw it in for free . but thats daft .   the big trad firm near where i work charge quite a bit extra if frames are asked for= more money  doesnt it .

Im trad i include it in my price im a window cleaner not glass cleaner

I'm trad too. One of my reasons for not going WFP is that I wouldn't be confident enough to be sure that top windows would be perfect, as I don't have binocure-like vision.

I remember picking up a new customer whose ex-window cleaner was WFP. The tops of the frames had been missed and the sills were green. Two minutes of the old way had them like new.

Not knocking WFP. There are good and bad WFP and trad cleaners.

i do frames and sills but if there are vents on top frames then i only do these occasionally when they start to look dirty, i have also found that sills 3 storey and above are hard to clean unless you alter the angle of brush head so i dont do these every clean but only about every fourth month, i know i could use a sill brush but i dont like them

Johnny b, There is a easy way round this, i thought the same as you when i first went wfp as i do tops only i bought a pair of opera glasses of ebay for £5 they are the collapsible pocket type binoculars and fit into your top pocket,
Now if i am unsure about a top window i just take the glasses out to have a quick look to check they are alright, they are very compact and ideal!

if wfp then you wont have to scub the frames so hard every time ... but the sills will always need a good wiping every time....

I used to use kids plastic binnocs but they were too strong, operas sound ok

a nice  mini telescope does the trick look a bit of a twonk standing in the road spying on window frames or is it the ladies i dont know meself
