I adopt the attitude that my customers love to have their windows cleaned before Christmas, whether they like it or not.
Last year on the run up to Christmas, it was strange in that I was severely hampered by a lot of inside cleans (which I don't mind since I work with Wor Lass, and they're ideal for me to crack on outside while she does the inside). People like to have their property looking nice at this time of year.
I've had three customers make me 'promise' to get to them prior to Christmas, so the place looks nice for visitors; so I'll make sure I get these.
It's January and February where I feel like I'm not wanted by some!
But stuff them, we've agreed terms and conditions. If at the point of quoting they started saying stuff like, "Well, I wouldn't want you to clean in certain months", I just wouldn't take them on as customers in the first place.
My ex-wife was a child-minder, and she was pretty ruthless. She charged a RETAINING FEE whether she looked after your kid or not. So - for example - if you were going on holiday for three weeks and she wouldn't be child minding your kid, she'd still charge you for RETAINING HER as your childminder; otherwise she'd just fill the space with another kid.
I don't see much of a difference.
