Ionic Smear Marks??
« on: December 09, 2010, 03:26:55 pm »
I've got a Pro 7 Thermo

Recently after cleaning windows, some have been leaving smear marks.  Resin is all good and TDS is coming at 4/5.  It doesn't seem to do it on all the windows which is really strange.  ???

Anyone else experienced this too?

no, brush is fine.  and the fact that it only does it on some windows makes me think it's in need of a filter change perhaps.

What kind of windows is it happening on?

Old upvc and painted frames are a sod for streaking

some painted frames and some relatively new upvc frames.  I've been cleaning them for up to a year and it's never happened before.  Thinking it may be a problem with the Pro 7 as I've only been using it for around a month... bloody annoying though!!

I aint being funny chief but when you say smears do you mean heat smears from your hot water ?

I have a pro 5 thermapure and yes on some windows I get heat smears which dissapear within seconds but the glass is really clean.

It could just be that some windows are dirtier than others, after the recent storms.
Some of my backs are worse than fronts and vice versa.
Any that smear, might just need doing again.
