Merlins cracked, nightmare!!
« on: December 08, 2010, 11:49:33 am »
Was hoping to do some today with backpacks etc, checked water was coming out of my van tank, it was but there was a big leak. This was the glass on pr=filter which froze up and came out. Anyways got that sorted. Went to get my Merlin from the shed and all 3 filter casings have cracked. So looks like a new one for me now. What do you think?

I'm just thawing it out now. then need to take it apart and find out if any of membranes have cracked. Ive already got two spare filters and housings so thankfully will only need to buy one. Cant believe the price difference though. Wintecs wants £45 and cleaning spot £29!!

Sorry to hear this mate ;/ its bloody annoying

i think we all need to take winter far more seriously
i am looking to get a new van and system with Ro next year there is no way i am parting with any money unless the company i use to install it implement a cost effective economical method to keep my van warm imagine getting your membranes frozen ... the headache of ordering fitting loss of work..

These company's selling fitted systems must be considering it by now so far they all said they dont do it.and said stick a heater in the van...

i cant be the only one who has pointed this out to them,
