NICE AND WARM
« on: December 07, 2010, 04:48:40 pm »
here in manchester today was sunbathing in temps upto 3 c above freezing, working in a t shirt again, snow and ice nearly all gone, happy days, full day tommorow to celebrate

sorry if its no good where you are, but we have to put up with rain 99 days out of 100 so were entitled to some luck for a change :)

Depends what colour your t - shirt is really mate; if it's blue I just pity you and if it's red I hope the wheels fall off your van and your water freezes in to a large, useless ice lolly ;D
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

Ice is thawing slowly here but hoping theres no more snow

Does anyone know the forecast for the north west for next week?

Its red mate :) the blues ones we use as sill cloth :)

daz, where in cheshire pal, outside my house i got in car at 11 was 0 degrees, then as i drove into manchester it was 2-3 degrees, i honestly was really warm in the sun had to take jumper off :)

was still 1 degree back home at 4pm

clearly cleen - was in hulme about 1 mile from chorlton, have you lads got out and tried having a go? you might be surprised, since the big freeze ive lost 2 days and mainly because i couldne be bothered i reckon if i had tried id of got something done, but mainly trad im talking.... last year i sat in making excuses for myself and got in a right mess financially, im determined not to let it happen again, i am only doing about 4-5 hours but its still 5-600 a week , its better than daytime tele :) still bring on the thaw!!!

went out about 10 and work to 3 Sean but I think its always cold in Chorlton compared to the rest of manchester,I nearly slipped a couple of time on the ice, just using a trad pole took a leaf out of Dazmonds book after saying on another thread trady with a pole was backwards but getting bored at home and thought what the heck if I only do 5 houses it 5 less to do tomorrow manage to get 15 done so well chuffed.Put some vodka in warm water and had no problems yet.Just that all the pavements are frozen and a few strange looks off passer-bys which is normal for round there. Hulme is mostly student flats i thought the only glass their interested in is in the Pub :D
If I had a hot water system I would of WFP right through as the roads are good and I don't think the folk of Manchester take any notice of the weather as it is usually raining and my customers today and yesterday kept saying we pleased you turned we were wondering where you were and not cleaning their windows because its snowing just doesn't enter their minds.when I lived down South It only had to say chance of showers on weather forecast and you get can you leave it.I just going to crack on through till chrismo  :)

i bet theres still a FEW just wearing a t-shirt.  you know the type,a little bit nuts. in the town centre near where i live was a paper seller who never wore a coat even in winter,he was usually bare chested in late autumn

on this forum this time  last year was a windie planning on just wearing shorts all thru winter (was it for charity? )     , wonder if he did it in the end

There a few big council estates in hulme, and when i was first starting window cleaning someone put me onto one with no cleaner, i clean the whole thing pretty much now, never sold it or gave it up as it became such a big chunk of work, its about 6 ton a month and take about half a day on Friday so its good work, only problem is getting them to cough up the dough and iv been through alot of messers, still mostly weeded out to the good custys now :-)
