Ive hurt my back

happened saturday night while waiting outside the trainstation for my mrs, we then had a few drinky's and went to the stereophonics gig, of course whilst a little pi$$ed i didnt feel the pain and was jumping up and down etc etc etc

yesterday i had a sore back

today i couldnt get out of bed, finally managed it about mid-day and im in great discomfort

what do you do on your days off (just so this dont get deleted as being off topic), your days off when it rains and you CANNOT CLEAN WINDOWS  ;)

Day one is usually spent tidying up my flat as I'm a messy bugger  :)  .  After that I tend to hunt down more work.  Sometimes I visit a National Trust place or chill out with friends.

If I am rained off w/c then its gutter cleans for me.  Usually stack em up for rainy days so they dont take me away from w/c when its ok to do so.

Also do patio/wall blasts in the rain as I have an industrial, petrol jet wash on the van.

Promote them on the back of my 'your windows have ben cleaned today' cards.

Helps during the winter months although a bit messy.

When you do your back in, complete rest day 1, then go for an easy walk, like in the woods or park etc but take it easy day 2, on day 3 get moving no such thing as no pain/ no gain...if it hurts stop what you're doing.  Keep it mobile it'll wear off.  Use your knees more.

My daughters a physio, most bad backs can be helped a lot by doing Mckensie exersises. This is how it works. If the pain is in the middlle of your back, get on the floor as if your going to do press ups. in fact it's just like pressups. you must however keep your hips on the floor at all times. Do your first press up when you have reached the point where you can't press up any further exhale all your breath and hold for 10 seconds. repeat this 5 times and do it 4 times a day.
If the pain is to one side of your back you do this. stand beside a wall with the side that aches nearest to it. put your elbow against the wall at shoulder height, now with both feet together lean in towards the wall. Go as far as you can ,exhale and hold for 10 seconds as before.
The object of these exersises is to streTch the verterbrae away from the area that  have been compressed.
Don't lounge around resting, it is the worst thing to do,unless you have serious spinal damage of course. You could wait months for a physio appointment and they would only tell you to do the same thing. DAI

Go to a chiropractor
he'll put you on a special couch, turn you upsidedown, tell you, your jaw is causing the problem, while all your money falls out of your pocket and he collects!!

Next customer please!!
