Made a decision to be out everyday this week no matter what and want to clear a min of £500 by Friday.

Like Dazmond Im leaving my WFP at home and using ladders with lad footing the bottom where required.

Fortunately I had only swapped half my round over to WFP so these are the ones getting done this week.

-5 at the moment but will be as high as -2 by lunchtime  ;D

Working on theory of heated houses the glass will be warm so no problems with freezing on glass b4 i can squeege it off ..... thats the theory anyway.

Should be +5 in this area from Thursday onwards ?

question is..... ok you heat your water great but surley it will still freeze on the custys doorstep or somewere they can slip if its cold enough to freeze in your pipes its cold enough to freeze on the floor then were do you stand if a custy slips and breaks there arm or some thing
I think this is a good question but you have to weigh up the options.

sure someone might fall on ice and break an arm, but someone might trip over my hose in the middle of July and break an arm but it doesnt stop me going out to work.

If you want to find a reason not to work you will, personaly I would rather find ways to get my job done and deal with problems when AND IF they arise.

this is very true but when i work in places were people could trip i have my warning signs out untill i pack away and move on you cant do that with ice really yes you could trow salt down but as a couple of custys said last week they dont want it treading into there house i just wait till about 10 and finish a bit earlyer if thats all i can do then thats all i can do

It’s a tough call, I guess we are all a bit unsure what is acceptable and what is achievable in this weather.
I just want to get through it the best way I can, if that means leaving some ice behind me then ok, I think that is acceptable. If any customer’s don’t like it they will let me know, just like the ones who don’t like me working in the rain do.

Having said that we will of course take precautions where we feel necessary. Maybe miss the odd door so it does not leave an ice rink in front of it. But the fact is, if we don’t work at every opportunity we won’t be in business in the spring.

tosh ive also got some granny flats to clean!32 of em!i only recently swapped the uppers to wfp last time(im about 2 weeks behind).i think ill leave them until thursday when its warmer as the windows are too narrow for the trad pole and too dangerous off ladders due to me working alone.

weather forecast is for more of the same until thursday then a thaw for a few days then back to freezing temperatures!! ::) ::)

we seriously just have to get on with it by any means necessary!!it could be a long cold harsh winter.

I'll probably head out around 1030.  Only made one phonecall last night, no point in ringing loads of custys if it's too cold, and that was because they owe me 4 lots including today and wanted to ensure payment, something nice for the first day back! -2 today but 1 to 5 degrees for the rest of the week :)

Dense thick freezing fog here. If temps rise then I'll be out with my backpack. Can't stand much more of this craziness.

went out and even trad with screen wash in water windows froze immediately. Customer is going to turn heating up and go back later! Doors are worse.

Best check with them they have their heating on  ;D

Today is going to be worse day this week in Midlands. Only minus 1 tomorrow - going out again in about 20 mins.

Yes it is that cold and it's pretty much a waste of time going out there this morning. Just got back and wfp froze in hose, water froze on glass and when went trad looked like I was cleaning the window with yoghurt it froze that quickly. Will be going to the soup kitchen at this rate.

It's above zero with me. Shame it's snowing again. Four inches at least this morning heading rapidly towards six!

-15 this morning at 9am.

-10 at 11am. We had a go trad but even in the sun it froze.

My mates van derv filter froze. He managed to limp to Bakewell.

Took him nearly 2 hours to get 8 miles!

Better by Thursday.
