« on: December 05, 2010, 04:15:19 pm »
Hi,

did a first clean last week with the WFP and this woman works full time doesnt get back in to around 6pm ish.

Anyway just feeling confident on wfp as i have been using it on every house lately which i usually dont she emails me today saying this is the first chance shes had time to look at her windows and its left run marks and water deposits on quite i couple by sounds of it  :'(

i really scrubbed so i dont know why it does that! then others it turns out fine, she should will this happen everytime or just the first clean. I replied telling her about cleaned the frames and first cleans sometimes arent the best but should be fine on the next one etc.

Just makes u think what are the others like then? why do u get bits of spotts or runs even tho you have scrubbed and rinsed lots?
Dave.

just a but of a pain, think she does not get time off till weekend so only seen today but what about last weekend she should of seen then lol cus it was done friday 26th.

Well i have asked which windows are the problem ones then i may offer to return shew as just wondering if this is because its a first clean? or what to expect everytime. Shes not very impressed lol

It been my first day in the day light today and first chance to see the windows.  I appreciate that the windows have not been cleaned for a while and there is a build up of dirt.  However there is quite a lot of steaking and runs of water droplets left on the window which I'm not that pleased about.  Can you assure me that this is not usual and as  you say the next clean will give better results?

Dont think i have the best technequie though, is there any youtube vids that show you how to clean a window with WFP that maybe i could try that way.
Dave.

I did my house trad downstairs early this week, they were great until couple of days ago. Then had some sleet, and probably to do with a bit of thaw too,  but few have got spots and runs down now. No wonder custies do not want them doing this time of year!!

yeah i might get the odd window on a first clean that spots - i tell them this b4 clean and say i will correct it if that happens and they let me know. they never do and so far no complaints.

apart from........ on occasion with mainly timber framed windows .i get water run in the other side dont always know untill they tell me - so i tend to dry scrub with a brush head - before putting water flow on again re the top frames or miss top edge of frame all together.

At the end of the day, wfp is the best way to clean customers windows.

I always tell the customer that you get a good first clean to thoroughly clean frames and glass and after a few more regular cleans thereafter the get better.

I find also that when the customer is out on the days you clean them, they don't really know the difference when they back from work or whatever.  its only when they are in all day and you turn up to clean them and see you leave after without drying the water off the glass they complain, because they think that they have not been cleaned because you leave the water to evaporate.

So, to be honest not worth the worry.

regards.

It's the weather pal, wouldn't worry about it. Them high winds we had have made every job like a first clean...

Ive been wfp about five years now , and have found it best for me ,
on first cleans to go around with scim or microfibre and just dry them off
takes an extra 10 mins , that way i know 100% the jobs done properly
There is nothing worse than turning up the following month to see dirty runs
on windows you know you left

UPDATE:

The lady of the house got back to me and said the only two windows affected was the front bedroom window upstarirs and the front living room downstairs.

Im putting this one down to weather as shortly after cleaning the house it did snow a little and it could of hit these two windows as they are more open to the weather. Or if not just could be dodgy windows or just because it was a first clean. To be honest think shes over reacting first clean 2 window didnt come up too good out of 6 large windows one large patio with 4 large pain doors 2 normal doors and 2 velux windows  ???

9 days to get back to you and complain that a lot of time for them to get dirty and two windows you be due again to clean them.I would pop round there and give them a quick flick with the brush and rinse and apologize that some times they don't come on perfect on the first clean

Aparently her husband noticed the next day that there had be runs and streaks or something but took her another week for emailing me? sounds weird to me too she said it was the first time she seen it in the light.

Anyway shes happy that next time they will be ok just give them two a extra scrub and rinse

Hi Ronnie,

Just seen your post, i understand what your saying but aparently her husband noticed the day after the clean but as i said within 20 mins after cleaning we had a little hail/snow these two front windows would i imaginer directly get hit! and they were really dirrty as its a pritty busy road.

The woman is chinise we know there mingebag's  ;D lol .. no but seriously i think she knows its the weather now i was just a bit worried but after finding out it was just these two window am pritty conviced its down to the weather. All the others came up ok? by looks of it she made it sound like it was terible clean all round

Dodgy frames I would suspect. Always my first suspicion and usually right. If the frames are "milky" they will leave spots and runs.

heres a tip for you mate!if you have to go back to re clean and its an upper window just put a clamp with a scrim in on an extension pole and give the window a wipe to get rid of runs!saves getting the wfp out and having to clean the downstairs windows you ve wet as well!! ;) ;)

also blade off the lower windows if you think theyll spot on first cleans.

Sometimes there's some properties where WFP doesn't do a good job; it's down to the frames.

This morning someone asked me to clean their windows and then went onto rant about their previous window cleaner who used 'pure water' and what a crap job it did.  The window cleaner I know is probably the most experienced window cleaner we've got in Chepstow, and I know he takes pride in his work; so I can only put it down to the following...

1.  One of those customers.
2.  Frames.

He did strike me as one of those customers, so I declined his offer of quoting for him.
