I've heard they use a Penguin on a pole.

There is the Russian guy who comes on here who could tell us. I believe he was using Isopropanol last year.

In Canada they only tend to clean the windows a couple of times a year and in winter everything shuts down. But they live their life accordingly. When you are only paying a fraction of what you pay here for housing etc you can afford to.

Much better now with cable or satellite TV and broadband to keep you entertained while you are housebound.

i really did want to give it a go, at the time was besotted wiv the lithu woman but no matter how i tried the windie -in- lithu idea was a no-goer .

apparently  door knockers of any kind are frowned on and considered to be a gypsy charlatan, trying to rob the home.

As me, that operates in Scandinavia - we just have to do with this weather.
We clean when up to minus 10 degrees. Over that we give up.

We use isopropanol in our buckets with TRAD cleaning when it’s this cold.
The days can be really hard on us sometime. It`s been up to minus 15 now i November.
Because we have also much rain and stuff - we really have to work in any condition.
The only things that stops us is -10 degrees. You know - we are Vikings :) hehe

I`m trying my best to work with WFP system, so I have bought a P.F. hot system for this.
Works OK, but still have to adjust something’s.

I think you guys that live in UK should just be happy with your weather conditions.
It`s funny when I read about UK in the news that people get really stuck in weather conditions like you have now... :) well, you come a long way with winter tires and some practice. :)

I used to live in Denmark in the 80's. I remember it being -28 °C on ocassions with 8'drifts of snow totally wiping out whole communities for weeks.

Dont remember window cleaning being a trade over there as such. I expect most of them cleaned when they wanted and left them otherwise. But then again I dont remember much about those times, anyone ever drank Gammel Dansk?  ;D

Yes but they do inside and out. Most house have double glazing plus secondary double glazing as well. and depending where you are, insect screens on all windows and doors.
