ive got a 27 my brother has the 22, got both at the same time, the 22 has had 2 clamps come unstuck, my 27 has had none come unstuck. The weight differnece is quite noticable, but the extra reach on the 27 does come in very handy, but the 22 has been a great pole

not bad as with my slx ive had the glue out  :-\ didn't quite release the clamp when extending it and pulled the clamp completely off. don't know my own strength.
however the good point is it,s light and usable good everyday pole on domestics.

can they be better made? yes but i think gardiners are still developing there poles imo the clx is very good value for money.   go buy one.....and maybe some araldite jsut in case.

ive had mine for 4 months now and its a great day to day pole for domestics.i broke one clamp by over extending at an awkward angle after about 2 months of use.anyway gardiners provided a new one complete with glue dispatched the next day!great service!just be careful you dont extend them too much!!

the carbon and red colour of the pole does come off the pole and on to ya hands if you dont have gloves on! ::) ::)but i usually wear them these days.

no problems with clamps coming unglued though.

Do you spend much time adjusting the clamps?

If a clamp comes loose and needs to be re-glued is the pole out of action for the rest of the day (or however long it takes glue to fully set)?

the clamps take some getting used to.they dont need to be tight to clamp the pole thats the main reason why we break them.
i also wash the pole and flush the insides with warm water every day i also wd40 the clamp screw.

I know someone with a clx18 and they get a bit fed up regularly adjusting the clamps. Do you think this is because he has them too tight and they should not need regular adjusting?

He is also fed up with the pole hose (I use gardiners pole hose with a 17ft xtel and find it a pain).

yea maybe but when you collapse the pole you still have to aline the clamps which some may consider a pain? all hose is a pain in the winter.
  iam looking to go hot!

I found the Gardiners pole hose too stiff. But on the latest CLX's we got it seems to be different hose, still yellow in colour but softer more supple?

The gardiner hose I have is soft and supple but this seems to make it get more tangly!

Well,.... to say the CLX is a new pole , and suppose to be better than the Extel,

i will hold out on buying one just yet until they have sorted out the clamps !

two weeks and the clamps are coming unstuck ??

No, i will wait a while .... or not even bother.

 ;)
