I did used to like my freestanding one in my old van, point it in any direction and go.

It can be a problem being outside with doors shut tho unless you can put a port outside of van. ;)

I have mine on a a rotating board with castors on, van mounted and turn the whole thing to the direction im working.... even if i have to head to the front of the van, it works a treat.

i have my back doors open and lock the cab... only carry the pole i need for the day (27ft).... so there aint anything else worth pinching .... unless they fancy unbolting things...

mines bolted down in the van, I just close the doors and lock them on the 8mm minibore, the door seals have a bit of "give" in them and works fine, I've never needed ports.

van ports from purefreedom, use freestanding reel for now till you figure out something else. The method I use is by far the best thing though. Doors locked at all times, but still retain over 180 degree freedom.

i dont no wot to do

this is what i do

just need to make sure you park you van in the right place for the house you are doing and there are virtually no problems, its far less hassle that humpping reels in and out on each house. If i have houses in same road, i put the poles on the roof drive to house get out pull pole off the roof and i am on the window in 20 sec.

If the pole is in the van add another 10-15 secs to get it out and plug it on, its far quicker than getting reels in and out, i use a cordless drill to wind hoses in, and as the reels are fixed it works alot better than having a free stanging house reel.

Tim, when you cut through the floor, did you use a hole saw or drill and jigsaw?

concept

Hmm, it is an option but for me it wasn't, it would have been too high to take over public footpaths etc.

Just use a jigsaw I believe, triple measure it first though! It's tricky getting it right, especially since the floor is corrugated(?)

i got under my van and found a gromet, then all i had to do was drill through the wood flooring then attach it to my diy hozelock van port. a freestanding hose reel is very easy to use and wind up.

Freestanding for me.

Easy to lift in/out (unless you're a girl)

Park anywhere, in any direction & still have your hose at ground level & going exactly where you want it. Also, you can just bring it in at night so it doesn't freeze!!!!! ;) ;)

not sure what you mean by the tube, but my microbore hose goes through the side of the van through the ports, the ports on the outside are what i made from some aluminium rod.
