i was just wondering do you carpet folk also have a round of customers does it kinda work like window cleaning?

If you do i guess its like a 6 monthly clean what are the basics? minimum charges whats a decent outlay for a nice system?

its something i was thinking about doing at a later date

Hi

you have the right idea. having money coming regular is important for you and your family. you can sell a service that people pay on a standing order once a month and you give them say a full wall to wall clean once a year and whats called a highlight clean every six months. This works and many guys do very well at it.

The down side is that you have to sell this service. its not something that you can just sell in one sentence. so you need to put lots of work into how you go about selling this type of service.

i did not know that people like to have their carpets cleaned once per month what would it cost for an average 3 bedroom semi in the uk for a monthly service by the way im in london so i guess its a little bit more.

Also how much would it be for a highlight clean for a 3 bedroom semi.

Ian didnt say the clean is done once a month, but the client pays by standing order once a month.

It's been talked about in seminars and marketing programs for a long time and I can only think of one person who did it with some success. Problem is, some services can be carried out with virtually no disruption and at very little cost, unlike carpet cleaning which is disruptive  and expensive by comparison

i mean say it takes you 4 hours to clean carpets only on a 3 bedroom semi how much would you guys charge

Price - there is so much more involved when you price for carpet cleaning than the cost, that basically it is near on impossible to say a price.
Type of carpet, area coverage, accessibilty, colour, age, any stains/marks, type of underlay.....and so on.
From reading on here for this last past year I would say that you have hourly rates from £8.99 ( ) to over £100.00

Well,that is perhaps an over statement,more like fools gold.
I wonder if it incudes furniture and suite cleaning ?

I would say 95% of carpet cleaner have thought about this and.... never done anything about it.

4% tried it a few times and it didn't work so they stopped trying to find a way that did.

1% Know damn well only a small percentage of people will go for it, but they get a lot more takers than the other 99%. Does that make sense?

might be worth a second look as when you think about how many prospects get conned by bait and switch providing a real service like this must have value and a percentage of people would go for it. as i have said I think we need to look at selling as well as marketing given whats going on
